I went to Asian Civilisation Museum to watch An encounter with Akihiro Tanaka and the Yamaha L-Series organised by Yamaha. He is a solo guitarist from Japan, Kyoto and started learning his guitar at the age of 13.
Before I went, I thought perhaps he is just another guitarist but after listening to him & watching him play on stage, I was really impressed by his skill. Furthermore, he is really entertaining. He also taught us the guitar technique etc and showed us bad example of how guitar is played. He said that seems like bad example is more difficult to play than the normal good example. hahaha...
During the concert, he played very nice songs & there was 1 Chinese song he played was so nice. I ever heard that song before... and he mentioned the name of the song but aaarghh... due to my poor memories.. I FORGOT! 1 man asked me what's the title of the Chinese song & I couldn't answer. hahahaha... sigh...
I like his songs but I couldn't remember all the titles... I could remember only a few. I like letter, JUKE BOX, 学園天国, Etude of the Sun and that Chinese song which I forgot the name & many more. keke... Perhaps I can use my classical guitar to try some of his scores but it won't sound as nice as acoustic guitar. sigh...
He played 学園天国 for his ending song. This song was originally sung by 香取慎吾(Shingo Katori) a member of SMAP. How I know? keke cos I was SMAP's fan & I had that CD. hahaha... Then a few years back when Japan had this movie called [Waterboys], they used this song to do their synchro swimming and I like it very much.
After playing 学園天国(gakuen tengoku), everyone cheers & encore. hahahaha.. It was really fun & we participated in his concert cos we were asked to sign along hahaha... If you had heard of this song before, you will know which part we are singing. hahhahaha... Perhaps when I can upload the song to share with all of you.
Anyway, you can watch the clip above. After that we had his autography & I took a picture with him. He is so cute hahahaha... his eyes are so small & I really like small eyes ppl. hahaha..
You can visit his official website at http://www.tanakaakihiro.com/ or go Youtube to find hahaha...
